Hello Doctor.
I'm here about that pain I told you about.
Although I already know what you'll say,
so I'll finish quick.
The pain
is alive.
It wakes and lurks
for when I least expect it
jumping out of the shadows
to bring darkness to the light
Or maybe
it is a raging sea
rough and frothing at the waves
edging ever closer to my little shore
waiting and lurking
before the waves crash over me
and send me flying, limb over limb
into the abyss
the abyss
the abyss
Oh, sorry Doctor.
I should describe my symptoms better.
When the pain attacks,
for it's always an attack
it strikes right
at the heart.
The way it makes your heart stop beating
and lungs stop breathing
and organs start failing
no wonder we thought
the heart was the throne of the soul
and the brain just an automaton
believing it's in control
until something breaks down below
haha, break. like...
heartbreak
I didn't understand it
until just a couple months ago
Yes, Doctor, that's when the pain started.
And I already know what you'll say
so no need to sugarcoat it.
The diagnosis, obvious.
the symptoms, plain as day.
but unfortunately,
there is no cure
for an ailment so common.
the only remedy
is time
and love
and pain.
so just prescribe me some ibuprofen, Doc
and I'll be on my way.
